Mr. Alghanim is Chairman of the Fouad Alghanim & Sons Group of Companies, a multi-operational body of companies consisting of a number of fully independent divisions as well as fully and partly owned subsidiary companies based in the U.S., Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

The Group engages in a number of diverse commercial enterprises which include direct representation of multi-national commercial contractors, manufacturers, civil construction and contracting, installation and maintenance of all forms of mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment, investment project management, hotel ownership, telecommunications engineering and management, aviation projects, real estate development, industrial production and general contracting in both the local and international arena.

Gulf Industrial Technology – The first offset company established in Kuwait with Raytheon International Inc. in partnership with our Group to provide integrated logistics support in Kuwait for various international defense companies.

Kuwait International Aircraft Leasing Company - Aircraft leasing, marketing, business jet management, air cargo operations, and aircraft management services.

United Aluminium and Metal Coating Company – Design, supply and installation of aluminium and glass for all classes of building projects, including skylights, windows and doors, exterior cladding of composite aluminium panels, space frames etc.

Chairman, Advanced Technology Company, Kuwait – One of the largest health-care equipment supplier and service providers enjoying 65% of the market share in Kuwait. (Fouad Alghanim & Sons Group is the majority shareholder in this company).

Can Kerry Rescue a Two-State Peace Accord?

If the purpose of President Barack Obama’s visit to Israel was to dispel the view held by most Israelis, and by rightwing American Jewish supporters of AIPAC and the Likud’s annexationist policies, that he is hostile to Israel and to the Zionist enterprise, it must be judged a brilliant success. Not everyone was converted, but his words and personal charm seemed to have worked wonders on most Israelis.
While his visit was not expected to revive prospects for a two-state solution, he spoke far more directly and energetically about the need for an end to Israel’s occupation and about his own continuing efforts to help the parties achieve an agreement than his recent disengagement from the peace process prepared anyone for. But nothing he said in Jerusalem or Ramallah–and, more importantly, that he failed to say–justifies an expectation that his reengagement will be of a kind that has any chance of preventing Benjamin Netanyahu’s new government from finally nailing down the coffin in which they are burying a viable two-state outcome.
