Ramez F. Sousou

Ramez Sousou is Founder and co‐CEO of TowerBrook Capital Partners. TowerBrook is an international private equity and investment firm operating in Europe and the United States. It has assets under management of $5 billion.

Mr. Sousou was previously co‐Head of Soros Private Equity and was a member of the Management Committee of Soros Fund Management. Prior to that, he was a senior member of the Principal Investments group of Goldman Sachs.

Mr. Sousou sits on a number of corporate boards, including Jimmy Choo, GSE, Odlo, PolymerLatex, Archimica, AutoDistribution and Haymarket Financial.

Mr. Sousou is a Founder and Chairman of the Private Equity Foundation, the leading European venture philanthropy organization. He is a Trustee of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), where he is also Chairman of the National Development Board. Mr. Sousou is Chairman of Alpha Partners.

He is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Business School.

IMPOSING MIDDLE EAST PEACE BY HENRY SIEGMAN

The continued expansion of Israeli settlements in the West Bank seems to have finally locked in the permanence of Israel’s colonial project. Outside intervention may offer the last hope for a reversal of the settlement enterprise and the achievement of a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict. Since the U.S. is no longer the likely agent of that intervention, it is up to the Europeans and to the Palestinians themselves to fashion the path to self-determination in the occupied territories.
